One year old! What a big girl. Before her birthday, Alexa started to walk, but it wasn't until her party that she was a pro. Running around like a crazy girl -- after the guests left! She's not much into people that she doesn't see every day, but has gotten so much better since the parties and the child-care at the gym. She doesn't even cry now when Mommy leaves her. That's good, right? Mommy's not so sure...it's kind of sad!
Always a big eater...some things don't change. She uses a sippy cup for all but her morning and night-time milk. Problem is, although she loves plain yogurt, cottage cheese and any type of bread product (whole wheat bread, any cracker or cookie, chips...) she's REFUSING to eat anything with a different texture. If it's in the baby food, it's okay, although she's starting to really want to feed herself. It's these new foods alone. Noodles, scrambled eggs, peanut butter and jelly, you name it. Meats? Yuck. She won't eat any fruit (or vegetable) unless diced and mixed into her cereal. Yet she LOVES bananas (and especially the peel, although Mommy has stopped giving her that choice!) Wierd kid!
At one year old, The Bean weighed in at 22 pounds 8 ounces, and that's after being sick for about a month. She's 31" tall. She has a way to go, but she's catching up to Daddy fast!
Poor Guinness. He spends most of his time running away from The Terror. She just loves him. She follows him around to show him her toys. She pets him (his foot or an eye, usually, and those aren't his favorite scritchin' places!). Alexa also likes to feed her food to him. That's when he's her best friend, though! He hangs out by her feeding table for every meal and it usually pays off.
